From November 15 to 17, 2024, the 2024 New Era University Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Teaching Reform and Innovation Exchange was held in Guangzhou. The event was hosted by several Ministry of Education teaching guidance committees and related organizations, and organized by the Chemistry 101 Secretariat of Sun Yat-sen University. Many educators from chemistry and chemical engineering programs across China participated.
The meeting focused on discipline education and curriculum teaching reform under the background of building a strong education nation. Experts exchanged experience and achievements in Chemistry 101 construction, talent training, theoretical curriculum and textbook development, experimental curriculum innovation, and digital empowerment of teaching reform.

The conference invited leading scholars to deliver keynote reports on Chemistry 101 construction, teaching mass spectrometers, AI robotic chemists, advanced experimental curriculum construction, and inorganic chemistry curriculum and textbook development. Professor Zheng Lansun of Xiamen University noted that the liquid gating pressure-threshold instrument, as one of Xiamen University's self-developed teaching instruments, has been included as a dedicated instrument for Chemistry 101 chemistry measurement experiments.
