Recently, the final of the 3rd National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Quanzhou, Fujian. GIFT and the Xiamen University research team stood out from 8,006 projects with the project "Industrialization of the Liquid Gating Intelligent Testing and Analysis Cluster System - Leader of Interface Microscopy" and won an excellence award.
The National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is China's largest and highest-level postdoctoral competition with the broadest coverage. This year's competition attracted more than 36,000 participants, and over 1,700 projects advanced to the national final.
In surface and interface science, traditional characterization methods have long faced limitations such as single methods and insufficient adaptability. Liquid gating technology, pioneered by Chinese scientists, broke through the limitations of traditional solid porous materials, was recognized by IUPAC as one of the global top ten emerging technologies in chemistry in 2020, was written into undergraduate teaching materials in 2023, and was selected for the Ministry of Education's Chemistry 101 innovative experimental curriculum in 2024.
Through deep cooperation with Professor Hou Xu's team at Xiamen University, GIFT developed the world's first intelligent testing and analysis cluster system based on liquid gating principles, using critical transmembrane pressure as the core parameter to realize high-precision, dynamic, and nondestructive characterization of material interface properties.
At this competition, GIFT's flagship GIFT-E1 Pro received high recognition from judges and experts across industries. The instrument integrates high-precision sensing, AI-driven data analysis, and modular design, supporting research, industrial, and teaching scenarios.
This award is another milestone for GIFT on the path of deep industry-university-research integration and reflects the team's interdisciplinary collaborative innovation capability. GIFT will continue to advance liquid gating technology and accelerate the transformation of frontier research achievements.
